Transcending the Traffic
Answering the need for the vertical element for the Land
Transportation Plaza at Expo 86 in Vancouver Lishman's team created
Transcending the traffic. Fifty five steel figures ascend the 86 foot high
steel tower . The Sculptures devolve from cars in a traffic jam to a mass
of destroyed automobile parts and end up in human forms. It is a
monument to the de-evolution of the wheel and a celebration of our best
land transportation, our legs. The top figure was inspired by the legs
of Tina Turner. All the Figures are currently on display at
Lishman's home in Purple Hill Ontario. Click on the thumbnail images
